CHURCH FLOWERS FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS
When there is a special service at St Mary Magdalene’s church, Woodstock, we need to know what arrangements are being made about flowers for the occasion.
Consider whether you would like the flower displays to be provided by:
Family and/or friends
Florists
Church flower arrangers
Others
Below in the purple boxes is some information that might help you to decide.
Alternatively, you may not want any flower arrangements and that is also OK!
Please just let the Rector’s secretary at the Woodstock office (email stmmwoodstock@gmail.com, telephone 01993 812915) know who will be arranging flowers for the church for your wedding/funeral/memorial service, or confirm that there will be no flowers in the church.
Please email/phone the Church Office with the name, phone number and email for the person responsible for arranging flowers for the church for your service and specify the preferred location of each display.
CHURCH FLOWER ARRANGERS
The church flower arrangers can provide flower arrangements with examples of prices - £200 for a large and £75 for a small arrangement. If you are interested the Rector’s secretary will pass on your details to one of the Flower Team who will contact you to confirm what is required and exact prices.
PAYMENT
The cost for flower arrangements by the church flower arrangers will be added to the invoice issued by the church office for your service.
COMMUNICATION
The person putting the flower arrangements into the church will need to liaise with the Church Office about when the flowers can be installed and removed, and whether any can be left in the church for the regular services.
Please note: Sellotape, nails, screws, staples, drawing pins, Blutac, Whitetac, glue or adhesive tape must not be used to affix anything, anywhere in the building.
CHURCH REGULATIONS
Flower arrangers not familiar with the church will be sent standard instructions on working in our church.
The Church of England does not allow the use of any floral foam e.g. Oasis for arranging flowers in churches, as floral foam cannot be recycled. This policy has been implemented in our church.
FINALLY
We hope that beautiful flowers in the church will add to your appreciation, and that of others, of the service at St Mary Magdalene, Woodstock.
