CHURCHYARDS
Woodstock
The churchyard to the south side of St. Mary Magdalene has been closed for burials for over 150 years. A designated portion of the churchyard has been approved for the strewing of ashes of those who have had an association with the town of Woodstock or St. Mary Magdalene Church.
No memorial stones or plaques are permitted, but names can be entered in the Memorial Book kept at the back of church. The pages of the Memorial Book are turned daily and can be viewed during daylight hours. Only cut flowers may be left in the strewing area and only at the time the ashes are strewn.
Any enquiries about strewing of ashes or reserving a plot within the designated area for future use should be made to the Church Office stmmwoodstock@gmail.com or 01993 812915
Bladon
The churchyard at St. Martin’s Bladon is closed for burials other than in the case of a family or reserved plot. Ashes of those who lived in Bladon or whose names were on the church electoral roll may be interned in the churchyard. There are strict regulations about headstones and artificial flowers. Any enquiries about burials or internment of ashes in St. Martin’s churchyard should be made to the Church Office stmmwoodstock@gmail.com or 01993 812915.
