October UPDATE: more photos just received of the chairs looking even more chair-like in the workshop. (Not yet the finished look as they are yet to be stained. Scroll down to see more photos of the chairs under construction).
More about Bates and Lambourne furniture makers:
With nearly forty years of experience, they have made many wonderful things, from domestic furniture to a replica of William Blake's printing press, from props for the Braveheart and Gladiator film sets to a house for a tortoise, from chapel furniture for the Royal Marines in Plymouth to a Windsor chair for Jimi Hendrix's London flat.
[Update from Sept 15th 2017]
Exciting progress to report as we now have photographs showing the new chairs under construction in the workshop.
We've had such a wonderful response in support of the chairs and are immensely grateful for all those who have sponsored a chair so far. We recently released an extra 25 for sponsorship and at the time of writing there are only 12 chairs remaining. If you are still hoping to sponsor a chair (and have an inscription included) follow the information on the sponsorship leaflet here as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
